Pasos for Oak Cliff, a non-profit, is set up by Jesse Acosta, a high school teacher, and Alejandra Zendejas, a math tutor. We both consider ourselves sneakerheads.
As sneakerhead educators and members of the community, we are fully aware that parents and guardians struggle to supply some basic necessities for their children - this is especially true when it comes to shoes.
As a result, we decided to turn our LOVE for sneakers into a proactive start up - Pasos for Oak Cliff. The goal of Pasos for Oak Cliff is to give students new shoes. The lack of good quality shoes leads to discomfort, ridicule, bullying, and isolation. We can prevent that from happening, but we cannot do it alone, we need YOUR SUPPORT.

Pasos in Austin
Our founders Jesse Acosta and Alejandra Zendejas graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. In their 4 years in Austin, Texas they got to know the community very well. But South Austin in particular, reminded them of their home - Oak Cliff. They noticed similar ethnic and poverty partners. Hence, they are teaming up with Antonio Salmerón (Pasos Regional Manager for Austin), a native to Austin and high school teacher at Crockett Early College High School to make this shoe drive possible!
As sneaker heads, we always make shoe contact before eye contact. A trend we have noticed between poverty and shoes is that students that come from low income homes are more likely to show exaggerated wear and tear on their shoes. This leads discomfort, ridicule, bullying, and isolation. We can prevent that with YOUR HELP.
For every $5 that you donate you will be entered for a chance to win a pair of Yeezys or Air Jordan 1!! If YOU WIN, you will be able to choose from 1 of the shoes. The donation drive ends October 30, 2020 at 5 CT PM.
