Pasos for Oak Cliff has turned one year old!
Here are some words from Founder and Executive Director, Jesse Acosta:
"It's crazy how one year has gone by already... It feels like it was just yesterday that Alejandra and I sat down at the corner of my table to talk about doing something for our students. I remember that we were both feeling nervous about starting a nonprofit from scratch, given our limited experience with nonprofits, but as educators we had to act. Thus, it's a blessing to be here a year later and to be able to reflect on everything we have accomplished. Of course, we couldn't have accomplish such things without our Pasos family - the donors, the sponsors, the team, the volunteers, and any one cheering for us. Alejandra and I are extremely grateful with all of them. They helped us have a bigger impact in Oak Cliff, Dallas, and Austin. Because of our Pasos family, Pasos for Oak Cliff has earned value and respect in the community. We, the Pasos team and I, are excited to reach new accomplishments and we hope that our current and past donors, sponsors, and volunteers join us for chapter two... May God bless them and Pasos for Oak Cliff!"
Pasos for Oak Cliff will be releasing an Impact Report by the end of August with a final count on how many shoes were distributed, where they were distributed, and other important data figures. Until then, please take a look at our "A Birthday Look Back" timeline - celebrating Pasos' major accomplishments for the last year.
